Description of the organization:

Asia America Career Connection (AACC) Shadow In China gives aspiring leaders an accurate and insightful view into China’s healthcare system with its physician shadowing programs. Our mission is to help undergraduate students and exceptional high school students interested in pursuing a future in medicine/dentistry gain better insight into the true nature of the medical industry.

Description of the Position:

The Trip Leader will provide operational, administrative, and logistical support for AACC Shadow In China 2019 Summer Programs, ensuring that students are prepared for international travel, cultural immersion, and professional shadowing, as well as providing a safe and satisfying experience.

Key Responsibilities:

AACC Shadow In China’s Trip Leader’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading university students on summer programs in Qingdao and Guangzhou
  • Preparing pre-departure orientation materials
  • Managing pick-up and drop-off services for students at the airport
  • Providing English & Chinese translation services for students and staff
  • Updating AACC Shadow In China’s media presence with videos and pictures
  • Updating parents and staff on students’ wellbeing and safety
  • Arranging travel logistics and coordinating plans with Chinese medical staff
  • Soliciting students’ feedback and compiling data and evaluations for CEO and Director of Operations
  • Cooperating with hosts and hospital staff to coordinate schedules and events

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated project management, organizational, and logistical skills
  • Ability to be responsive, focused, and calm while juggling multiple requests in a fast- paced environment
  • Proven maturity dealing with high school and university students
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, anticipating issues and resolving conflicts
  • Ability to work well productively and collaboratively with international colleagues and key external stakeholders
  • Ability to adeptly handle confidential information
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in Healthcare
  • Fluent Mandarin Chinese
